Job summary

JTM Construction Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects in the Seattle area. You will be involved from estimation through closeout, collaborating with team members to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate will have a related degree, strong communication skills, and experience with construction software. Travel to project sites in the greater Seattle area is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Experience with commercial general contractors preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and ability to innovate.
  • Knowledge of P6, Vista, Autodesk, PlanGrid, and BlueBeam.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Leadership skills; lead by example.
  • WA driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Quantity Take-Offs and provide estimate support.
  • Manage project submittal and material delivery schedules.
  • Review shop drawings and material submittals per design requirements.
  • Prepare and document accurate meeting minutes.
  • Update and maintain project record documents, specifications, and logs.
  • Assemble project closeout documentation.
  • Request, review, and collate subcontractor pricing.
  • Draft and review project RFIs for submission to the design team.
  • Take and manage progress photos.
  • Manage subcontractor scopes of work as assigned.
  • Participate in overall project safety.
  • Contribute to company committees.

PROJECT ENGINEER

At JTM Construction, the role of the Project Engineer is to provide critical support to both the Project Manager and Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects. Project Engineers are involved in all phases of the project, from estimation through project closeout.

The Project Engineer must be able to work closely with others in a team environment. The individual must be professional and self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills, dependable, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. This position requires travel in the greater Seattle area, depending on the project’s needs.

The full salary range for this position is $89,000 - $115,000, depending on direct professional experience and qualifications. The bonus target for this role is 3%-10% of annual base earnings.

Requirements
SKILLS
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
  • Prior Experience Working for a Commercial General Contractor Desired
