Job summary

JTM Construction seeks a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects in the greater Seattle area. The role spans all phases from estimation through project closeout, requiring teamwork, professionalism, and strong communication.

Travel may be needed based on project needs. The full salary range for this position is $89,000 - $115,000, with a 3%-10% bonus target of base earnings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
• Prior experience with a commercial general contractor desired.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of P6, Vista, Autodesk, PlanGrid, and BlueBeam preferred.
• Leadership and willingness to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Quantity Take-Offs and provide estimate support.
• Manage project submittal and material delivery schedules.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals per design requirements.
• Prepare and document accurate meeting minutes.
• Update project records, specifications, and logs.
• Assemble closeout documentation and manage RFI submissions.
• Take progress photos and manage subcontractor scopes of work.
• Support overall project safety and participate in company committees.

PROJECT ENGINEER

At JTM Construction, the role of the Project Engineer is to provide critical support to both the Project Manager and Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects. Project Engineers are involved in all phases of the project, from estimation through project closeout.

The Project Engineer must be able to work closely with others in a team environment. The individual must be professional and self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills, dependable, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. This position requires travel in the greater Seattle area, depending on the project’s needs.

The full salary range for this position is $89,000 - $115,000, depending on direct professional experience and qualifications. The bonus target for this role is 3%-10% of annual base earnings.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
• Prior Experience Working for a Commercial General Contractor Desired
• Ability to Work with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
