Description
The Service Porter Associate, like all Shea team members, is expected to conduct themselves professionally, adhering to Shea Core Values and the Business Ethics, Employee Conduct, and Confidentiality policies. The pay range for this position is $18.15 to $22.55/hour. The Service Porter is eligible for the renewal bonus and the discretionary annual bonus plan. Shea Properties offers a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, 401k, disability, life insurance, a 40% discounted apartment (subject to availability), a $1,000 Sign-on Bonus, and a cell phone allowance.

Job Duties

• Inspect and clean all common area laundry rooms, restrooms, leasing/management offices, models, pool areas, guest suites, recreational facilities, and other common areas.
• Inspect grounds including landscapes, streets, walkways, and trash enclosures, removing trash and sweeping or washing areas as directed.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance turnover on vacant apartments following company policies and checklists.
• Deliver notices, flyers, and newsletters to residents upon request.
• Paint signs, posts, fences, fire hydrants, speed bumps, decking, curbs, and other areas as directed.
• Perform and assist with general maintenance duties as requested by the Service Manager.
• Receive, stock, and reconcile maintenance supplies and shipments.
• Report safety concerns and community appearance issues to Property Management to ensure a safe, attractive environment.
• Promote positive resident relations through courteous and helpful interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned, with responsibilities varying by community size.

Technical/Professional Knowledge

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to operate hand tools.
• Ability to work independently following verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of First Aid and safety procedures.
• Experience in janitorial tasks including cleaning and painting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment
The Service Porter works on-site at an apartment community, interacting with residents, staff, and vendors. The schedule typically runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., including weekends, but flexibility is required based on community needs.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be physically capable of performing duties such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and driving as needed.
