Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain the San Jose Service team.
  • Manage calibration, repair, and field service operations, including workload and scheduling.
  • Monitor service performance, turnaround times, backlog, quality, and commitments.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation for calibration, repair, torque, and field-service issues.
  • Develop and standardize technical methods, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Provide technical training, mentoring, and cross-training.
  • Support quality, audits, corrective actions, and accreditation activities including ISO standards.
  • Investigate technical issues, out-of-tolerance conditions, quality concerns, repeat failures, and warranty issues.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve serviceability and performance.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce turnaround time and backlog.
  • Help establish consistent technical practices across locations.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain the San Jose Service team.
  • Manage daily calibration, repair, and field service operations, including workload, scheduling, priorities, and resources.
  • Monitor service performance, turnaround times, backlog, quality, and customer commitments.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex calibration, repair, torque, and field-service issues.
  • Develop and standardize technical methods, procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
  • Provide technical training, mentoring, cross-training, and competency development.
  • Support quality, compliance, audits, corrective actions, and accreditation activities, including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 6789, as applicable.
  • Investigate technical issues, out‑of‑tolerance conditions, quality concerns, repeat failures, and warranty issues.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve serviceability, technical readiness, and operational performance.
  • Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on reducing turnaround time, backlog, rework, repeat failures, and operational waste.
  • Help establish consistent technical practices and capabilities across Service locations.
Qualifications
  • Experience leading or supervising a technical, calibration, repair, field service, or similar operation.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with calibration, torque measurement, repair, or related technical processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate employees.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage day‑to‑day operational demands while also driving longer‑term technical improvements.
  • Experience with quality systems, ISO standards ( 9001 or 17025), or accredited laboratory/service environments preferred.
  • A hands‑on, collaborative approach with a commitment to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Military PMEL/TMDE experience, a plus
