Job summary

SAM PACK FORD COUNTRY OF LEWISVILLE is seeking a Mobile Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at customer locations. You will read repair orders, perform quality repairs, and coordinate with the parts team to ensure timely service.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and ASE certification, with strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and clean record required; background check and drug screen may apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair work and diagnostics as outlined on repair orders, to dealer and factory standards.
• Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspections.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts and with service advisor for timelines.
• Works as Mobile Technician, traveling to customer locations to perform repairs.
• Keeps work area organized and maintains tools and manuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Mobile Technician will go to customers location for repair.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Installs optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Keeps the shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Fast, eager learner and team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Computer skills and willingness to learn new problems.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
• Have an ASE certificate and great communication skills.
• Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record that is acceptable to our policies.
