Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling at designated military installations in support of service members and their families. The role includes one-on-one counseling, group briefings, and referrals while coordinating with POCs to ensure program scope and DoD compliance.

Responsibilities include developing spending plans, offering DoD lifecycle workshops, and delivering virtual counseling as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
May consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Must have one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

Provide full breadth of personal financial counseling services at military installations.
Deliver education and counseling including one-on-one sessions, briefings, and referrals.
Coordinate with installation POCs to ensure program alignment with DoD scope.
Develop spending plans for extended absences and create educational materials.
Conduct and publicize Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
Utilize virtual counseling or secure online communications as needed.
