Job summary

Guardian Fueling Technologies is seeking a Service Manager to lead the service team and manage the department to meet strategic goals. Responsibilities include coordinating training, enforcing safety, and ensuring top customer satisfaction with rapid issue resolution.

The role also covers budgeting, service billing oversight, vendor programs, and coordination with the branch leadership to maintain Guardian’s professional image. Benefits are provided for eligible staff.

  • Promote Guardian Fueling Technologies guarantees when customers are not satisfied.
  • Maintain accurate customer service records.
  • Ensure technicians follow customer directions and IVR rules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the service team to meet goals per mission and financial plans.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, discipline, motivation, training, and retention.
  • Manage equipment/vehicle inventories to support first-trip service calls.
  • Approve service accounts payable with Guardian Finance Dept. and file startup reports.
  • Schedule customer training and support construction in start-ups.
  • Manage service projects and assist sales with equipment questions.

Job description

Summary/Objective

To provide leadership to the service team, and management skills necessary to achieve the goals established by our mission statement, core values, strategic intent, and financial plans. The service manager is responsible for helping ensure quality service to our customers by responding to calls within 24 hours and correcting the problem on the first trip.

Requirements
I. Customer Service
  • Supervise service technicians
  • Develop and maintain on-going training program
  • Resolve customer concerns, problems, and complaints very quickly
  • Promote and use the Guardian Fueling Technologies unconditional guarantee in cases where the customer Is not 100% satisfied
  • Maintain customer service records
  • Assure that all Technicians are following directions set by customers (IVR compliance)
  • Take full advantage of the WennSoft/GP service module
  • Participate actively in weekly Service Manager calls
II. Service Personnel
  • Ensure All OSHA and Guardian Fueling Technologies procedures are followed
  • Provide all personnel with safe work environment
  • Assume responsibility for recruiting, hiring, discipline, motivating, training, and retaining exemplary employees
  • Conduct Annual Reviews of each employee. (Keep raises within Budget pool)
  • Ensure That personnel are always in proper dress/uniforms and present a quality image to our customer and the general public.
III. Equipment/Vehicles
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and inventory control on all trucks to support all service call needs on the first trip
  • Ensure that all equipment and vehicles are clean, safe, operational, and present the correct Guardian Fueling Technologies image
  • Maintain clean and organized storage of all tools and equipment
IV. Administrative
  • Develop and maintain department budget
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate service billing
  • Ensure customer portals are being maintained by the admin staff
  • Approve all service accounts payable in conjunction with the Guardian Finance Dept.
  • Handle all service accounts payable
  • File start-up reports with manufacture
  • File reports with state and local government
  • Schedule customer training
  • Solicit service contracts and service opportunities
  • Schedule and support construction in start-ups
  • Perform projects management duties for service projects
  • Assist salesman with equipment questions
  • Administer service related programs with vendors
V. Promotion of Guardian Fueling Technologies mission statement, strategic intent, branch business plan, and company policies.
  • Continually communicate to department members
  • Ensure that GFT is an exemplary corporate citizen
  • Set the standards for quality and customer satisfaction in the marketplace
VI. Meet or exceed, branch specific, management and financial performance criteria
  • Sales growth
  • Gross margin (budget)
  • Total expenses
  • Net income
  • Labor hours paid to labor hours billed
  • Ensure technicians efficiency is 95% or better

This position requires lifting, standing, walking, working flexible hours, driving a company vehicle (clean MVR required), passing a drug test, and criminal background check. This position requires presence within the branch in order to facilitate the essential duties of the role, and to serve as a present member of branch leadership.
