Job summary

Suntex Marinas in New Jersey seeks a Service Manager to promote service and repair sales, supervise daily operations across sites, and manage scheduling and service administration. The role reports to the General Manager and works with vendors and subcontractors to optimize margins.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering or project management, 5–10 years of related experience, OEM training a plus, and thrives in a sales-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering or project management is desired.
• 5–10 years related progressive experience and/or training.
• OEM training and certification a plus.
• Ability to work in a sales-driven environment requiring both inside and outside effort.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate the activities of all service crewmembers.
• Develop the service team skillsets, training programs and provide direct hands-on mentoring when required.
• Monitor team performance, production, efficiency and quality metrics to meet goals.
• Ensure adherence to departmental and/or operations policies, procedures and practices.

POSITIONPURPOSE:

TheServiceManagerisresponsibletopromotethedepartmentserviceand repair sales, managing teammemberdaily workloads, project scheduling and supervision of all sites daily service operations, including service administration and purchasing. The Service Manager interacts with all vendors and sub-contractors utilized during regular business activity and continuously seeks to improve purchasing power and sell through margins.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scheduleand coordinatetheactivitiesofallservicecrewmembers
• Developtheserviceteam skillsets,developtrainingprogramsandprovidedirecthands-onmentoringwhen required
• Monitorsteamperformance,production,efficiencyandqualitymetricstoensurethatgoalsaremetandsupporting overall team quality and training efforts
• Ensuresadherencetodepartmentaland/or operationspolicies,proceduresandpractices

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Directsupervisionofservicetechnicians,serviceadministrationstaff,yardandgenerallabor.Superviseanyandallsub-contractors utilized by the site directly or indirectly.

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelororadvanceddegreeinengineeringorprojectmanagementdesired.
• Five(5)toten(10)yearsrelatedprogressiveexperienceand/ortraining,orequivalentcombinationofeducationand experience
• FactoryOEMTrainingandCertificationaplus.
• Ability to be comfortableinasalesdriven environmentrequiringbothinsideand outsideeffortstoachievegoals.

WORKINGCONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Mustbeabletoindependently lift,carry,push, andpulluptothirty(30)pounds
• Mustbeable toclimb stairs,bothindoors andoutsideinavarietyofweatherconditions (rain,wind,heat)
• Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season

Wage range

$50,000 - $70,000
