Position Overview

Gabrielli Truck Sales is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy commercial truck service department. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid mechanical background, and experience managing technicians in a dealership or heavy-duty truck repair environment.

The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient shop operations, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, maximizing department profitability, and leading a team of service technicians and support staff.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Manage, train, motivate, and supervise service technicians, service advisors, and other department personnel.

Assign and prioritize repair orders based on technician availability, workload, and customer needs.

Monitor shop productivity, technician efficiency, labor utilization, and overall department performance.

Ensure repairs are completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer standards.

Work closely with customers to address service concerns, provide updates, and resolve issues professionally.

Review repair orders, labor charges, estimates, and warranty claims for accuracy and completeness.

Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure timely availability of parts and minimize repair delays.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment while enforcing company safety policies.

Monitor departmental expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.

Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating service department employees.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.

Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable regulations.

Provide regular updates to management regarding shop performance, staffing, and operational needs.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or similar leadership role preferred.

Experience in a commercial truck dealership, diesel repair shop, or heavy-duty equipment service environment strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, commercial trucks, diagnostics, and repair procedures.

Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team of technicians.

Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to manage workflow, prioritize repairs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience monitoring department profitability, labor efficiency, and productivity.

Familiarity with dealership management systems and repair order processes preferred.

Valid driver’s license required.

Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
