Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Service Manager for the Byron Center, MI branch. The role oversees the service department, strengthens customer and employee relations, and ensures efficient work order processing, invoicing, and quotes while emphasizing safety and performance metrics.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of management experience, dealership background, strong communication skills, and proficient computer and BI tools to analyze operations and payroll.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of previous management experience preferred.
• Dealership experience is highly preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good customer relations and people skills.
• Ability to successfully manage others.
• Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Business Intelligence (BI); Fleetmatics, Paytrace, Concur, and Extend.
• Language skills: reading, writing, speaking in English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation of the service department.
• Foster a positive customer and employee relations atmosphere.
• Review & analyze department data to meet sales and profit goals.
• Process and review work orders, invoicing and customer quotes.
• Incorporate safety into daily activities.
• Partner with Parts and Service Directors to align with goals.
• Monitor employee training progress.
• Oversee weekly payroll entry and audit for accuracy.
• Oversee outside purchase order acquisition and coordination.
• Ensure service vehicles and facility are in good condition.
