Tiello has partnered with a well-established industrial refrigeration contractor that provides full-service support for complex refrigeration systems across food processing, cold storage, warehousing, and industrial facilities. This organization delivers engineering, construction, service, and emergency support, and is known for its technical depth, safety culture, and long-standing customer relationships.
As the service division continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead service operations, support technicians, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across planned service, emergency response, and system optimization work.
The Industrial Refrigeration Service Manager will oversee all service operations for the branch, serving as the primary leader for technicians while acting as a technical and operational resource for customers and internal teams. This role blends leadership, technical oversight, customer engagement, and operational accountability in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of industrial refrigeration service technicians
- Coordinate daily and weekly service scheduling, including preventive maintenance, emergency calls, and project support
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues and customer concerns
- Ensure all service work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards
- Oversee service documentation including work orders, service reports, warranty activity, and closeout records
- Partner with customers to maintain strong relationships and ensure service expectations are met
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to support startups, commissioning, and system modifications
- Monitor service performance, labor utilization, and response times to drive continuous improvement
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of service personnel
- Identify opportunities to improve service processes, reliability, and customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration service or similar experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems and service operations
- Experience supporting ammonia, CO₂, or large-scale refrigeration systems preferred
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage field service technicians
- Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment
- Familiarity with safety standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices within industrial refrigeration
- Proficiency with service management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft-based platforms
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing emergency service operations and on-call rotations
- Background working with process safety management (PSM) environments
- Strong organizational and operational planning skills
- Ability to balance technical decision-making with customer and business needs
