Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a Service Manager to lead service technicians and drive diagnostics and repairs. You will coordinate with Sales and Operations to deliver accurate estimates and high-quality service, while maintaining detailed documentation and safety standards.

The role requires substantial leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to travel to job sites, including overnight stays when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of repair/service experience with rotating equipment, pumps and motors.
• 5+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing and working in a shop environment.
• Exposure to noise, grease, and industrial conditions.
• Ability to travel out of state with overnight stay.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage the training and development of the service technicians.
• Identify, develop, and implement process improvements in equipment, tooling, and processes.
• Approve time/absence reporting, attendance, vacation, overtime, etc.
• Collaborate with management and HR on reviews, pay raises and rewards.
• Guide technicians to diagnose equipment issues and define repair scopes.
• Maintain detailed work/parts records using OTC tools.
• Work with Sales and Operations to explain repairs and estimates to customers.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with regs.
• Travel to job sites with potential overnight stays.

What You'll Do

• Manage the training and development of the service technicians to include but not limited to: on-the-job training, cross-training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping
• Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and changes in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes supporting cost and quality efficiencies.
• Approve time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
• Work closely with management and Human Resources on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards, discipline and any other personnel issues that may arise.
• Guide / lead / teach technicians to conduct thorough diagnostics to identify equipment and component issues/problems/root cause/proposed fixes and repair/recondition work scopes
• Ensure the maintenance of detailed records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information. Utilize OTC documentation and communication tools and process.
• Responsible for working with Sales and Operations, at all levels. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
• Travel to job sites with potential overnight stay depending on customer and project needs.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in repair/service of rotating equipment, pumps and motors
• 5+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs
• Prolonged standing and working in a shop environment

• Ability to travel out of state with overnight stay.
• Valid drivers license.
