Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies seeks an Electro-Mechanical Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment such as electric motors, pumps, gearboxes. Work spans shop and field service ensuring OEM specifications and safe operation. The role requires 3+ years in rotating equipment and knowledge of motors, pumps, schematics, and predictive maintenance.

A high school diploma or GED is required; tech certification is preferred. On-site work in industrial environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in rotating equipment repair or maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of electric motors (AC/DC), pumps, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, PLC troubleshooting, or motor controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments.
  • Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment including motors, pumps, gearboxes, and components.
  • Support shop and field service operations to restore OEM specifications and safe operation.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues on rotating equipment.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Perform electrical testing including insulation resistance, winding checks, and continuity testing.
  • Troubleshoot motor control systems, starters, and VFDs.
  • Conduct alignment, balancing, and vibration checks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Complete detailed service reports and repair recommendations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with regulations.

Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25/hr. to $30hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and associated components.
  • This role supports both shop and field service operations, ensuring equipment is restored to OEM specifications and operates safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues on rotating equipment.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Perform electrical testing including insulation resistance (megger), winding checks, and continuity testing.
  • Troubleshoot motor control systems, starters, and VFDs.
  • Conduct alignment (laser/dial), balancing, and vibration checks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and repair recommendations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
What You’ll Need:
