Job summary

Milton Rents in Chicopee, MA is seeking a skilled Service Manager to lead service operations for our heavy equipment fleet. You will oversee parts inventory, maintenance scheduling, safety, and shipping/receiving while supervising staff, hiring, performance reviews, and policy implementation to boost efficiency.

You'll manage service records, warranty claims, shop organization, and fleet utilization, with a focus on strong customer service and tech-savvy solutions.

• Complete and enter work orders daily. Allocate parts and labor costs through a work order system.
• Provide damage estimates and invoices to customers and field sales reps timely and accurately.
• Log and track field service calls, ensuring timely response and customer communication.
• Ensure all rental machines have current inspections and certifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and yard.
• Prioritize and manage repair tasks to maximize fleet utilization and productivity.

Overview

At Milton Rents, we pride ourselves on being a leader in the heavy equipment rental industry. We're looking for a skilled Service Manager to oversee all service operations, including fleet and parts inventory, maintenance, repair, quality, safety, and shipping/receiving. Supervise employees, manage hiring and retention, conduct performance reviews, and implement policies to enhance team skills and operational efficiency.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000/year

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, trade school certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience as a Service Manager or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and resolution skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Sit/stand for long periods with frequent bending.
• Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
