Job summary

Shea Properties seeks a Service/Maintenance Technician to be the on-site expert for maintenance at our apartment community. You will perform regular and preventive repairs to keep systems running smoothly and to ensure residents live in a safe, comfortable environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, and HVAC; repairing appliances; general maintenance; grounds and pool; and providing friendly, professional service to residents while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in multifamily maintenance or related field preferred.
• EPA certification or related credentials a plus.
• Competency with power and hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair building systems and issues.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
• Diagnose and repair household appliances.
• Carry out general building maintenance tasks.
• Maintain grounds and swimming pool areas.
• Manage trash and improve curb appeal.
• Use strong customer service when interacting with residents and staff.
• Follow safety and compliance rules and procedures.

• Competency in Microsoft and various property management software, composing emails and other programs a plus
• Experience in operating power & hand tools and other necessary maintenance equipment
• Organizational and communication skills

Requirements – Service Technician (Maintenance):

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walking, sitting, reaching, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, and climb a ladder.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs., including equipment and materials.
• Ability to work weekends.
• Flexibility to work overtime and on-call (after hours) in case of an emergency.
