What You’ll Do
As a Service Estimator, you’ll serve as the link between our field technicians and our customers. You will turn field recommendations into clear, accurate proposals and guide customers through the approval and scheduling process.
In this role, you will:
- Review field technician notes, diagnostic reports, photos, and service recommendations.
- Develop accurate estimates based on labor, materials, equipment, and project scope.
- Build professional, easy-to-understand proposals aligned with company standards and pricing.
- Communicate proposals to customers and follow up to answer questions or clarify work details.
- Track proposal status and maintain organized records of pending, approved, or declined work.
- Coordinate with dispatch, supervisors, and project managers to schedule approved jobs.
- Ensure materials, permits, and project details are prepared before work begins.
- Collaborate with technicians and service managers to validate recommendations and refine processes.
- Update internal systems with proposal data, customer notes, and scheduling information.
- Perform site visits as needed
- Perform additional tasks as needed for the service department and company
This role is essential in ensuring customers receive timely information, clear expectations, and a seamless experience from recommendation to project completion.
What You Bring
Skills & Experience
- Experience in service estimating or related fields (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical services, construction, or similar).
- Ability to interpret technical information, service reports, and diagnostic notes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first approach.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and pricing.
- Proficiency with estimating tools, CRM platforms, and standard office software.
- Ability to manage multiple proposals, priorities, and deadlines.
- Professional, clear communicator who can build trust with customers and technicians.
- Organized and process-driven, with strong follow-through.
- Technically curious—comfortable learning industry-specific systems and concepts.
- Problem-solver with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
