Job summary

Mechanical Concepts LLC in Louisiana is hiring a Service Estimator to prepare accurate, timely cost estimates for HVAC service repairs, maintenance, equipment replacements, and small projects. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical training in HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical service, estimating, service coordination, or related industry.
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and repair processes.
• Ability to read equipment specifications, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Strong math, analytical, communication, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Experience with estimating/service management software preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review technician recommendations and inspection reports to develop repair and replacement estimates.
• Prepare detailed proposals for service repairs, equipment replacements, and small mechanical projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and equipment availability.
• Ensure estimates meet company pricing standards and profitability objectives.
• Collaborate with Service Managers and field personnel to clarify project scope and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate estimating records within company software.
• Follow up on outstanding proposals and assist with securing customer approvals.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating efficiency and consistency.

Position Overview

The Service Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for commercial HVAC service repairs, maintenance, equipment replacements, and small mechanical projects. This position partners closely with Service Managers, Account Managers, Service Technicians, vendors, and customers to develop technically sound proposals that support customer satisfaction and company profitability.

The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while producing high-quality estimates in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review technician recommendations and inspection reports to develop repair and replacement estimates.

Preferred

• Experience estimating commercial HVAC repairs, retrofits, and small projects.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigeration, piping, sheet metal, and BAS.
• Familiarity with service agreements and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with ERP/CRM/dispatch software.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
