Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis is seeking a Service Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on exposure to transmissions, embedded control systems, and service network support while working with a mentor and cross-functional teams.

The internship emphasizes failure analysis, technical document creation, and development of tools and training materials. You will commit to a minimum of 10 weeks and participate in a variety of activities at our Global Headquarters.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive, or related field.
• 2–3 years completed at an accredited college.
• Preferred GPA 3.0 in major.

Responsibilities

• Exposure to Allison’s products and cross-functional teams.
• Support investigation of failed transmissions and parts for vehicle uptime.
• Develop investigative plans for emerging or major issues.
• Assist in creating technical documents to inform service network of product issues, updates, and releases.
• Support development of specialized training and tools, as needed.
• Assist the Allison Technical Assistance Center.
