Job summary

RTX invites motivated students for a full-time co-op in aerospace engineering at our Rockford, IL facility. The program runs May/June through December, with a hybrid onsite/offsite work schedule and a mentorship-oriented environment to develop practical skills.

You will gather field data, perform root-cause analysis, and help implement service bulletins, while documenting technical information for diverse stakeholders and building training materials for OEM/operator courses.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with Python.

What You Will Do

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with Python

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Outlook)
• Experience managing projects, schedules, deliverables, or budgets
• Experience working on cross-functional teams
• A minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience

Role Type Definition

• Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
