Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Service Engineer for our Novi, MI. location. This is a remote position.

About the Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll ensure customer success by maintaining and optimizing high-precision Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and related equipment. You'll troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic systems, work independently, and develop your skills through exposure to innovative technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain high-tech CMM machines at customer locations.
  • Provide technical expertise and training on machine operation and upkeep.
  • Support product innovation by collaborating with R&D and technical teams to incorporate customer feedback.
  • Work independently in a dynamic environment while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Complete service reports accurately and provide feedback for service improvement.
  • Travel regionally (up to 100%) to interact with clients across various industries.
  • Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree (Tech School, Associate, or Bachelor's) or equivalent experience, including military technical training.
  • Experience with hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and travel regularly within the territory.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with CMM or industrial automation is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand, walk, and sit for long periods; bend and kneel regularly.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboard use and operating equipment.
  • Move around customer sites frequently.
  • Lift/move up to 75 lbs.
  • Vision abilities: close vision, depth perception, focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily customer sites, occasional office visits.
  • Maintain clean, orderly equipment.
  • Low to moderate noise levels.
  • Provide PPE as needed.
  • Travel up to 100% to customer sites.
