Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Service Engineer for its Grid Integration Service organization to support installation, commissioning, and service activities for power quality and grid integration systems across North America.

This office-based role focuses on administrative and phone support to field service teams and customers, with emphasis on responsive troubleshooting and coordination in time-sensitive situations.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with computer-based control systems.
• Knowledge of substation products, equipment and engineering practices.
• Knowledge of electrical safety measures, safety regulations and standards (ANSI/CSA/IEC).
• Familiarity with SVC, Series Capacitors, or HVDC is a plus.
• Able to work autonomously in time-critical/high-pressure scenarios; willing to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, commissioning and service activities for power quality and grid integration systems.
• Serve as primary contact for service teams and customers, including phone triage.
• Provide remote troubleshooting using system documentation.
• Assist with system-focused testing and service coordination.
• Contribute to training for junior engineers and customers.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, suppliers and customers to deliver service.
• Support process improvement and service execution enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
