Southern Thrusters LLC in Houma, Louisiana is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to handle repair and maintenance for the marine propulsion service industry. Key responsibilities include performing quality repairs, troubleshooting, and arranging travel for job site work.
The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid TWIC and Driver’s License. Physical tasks may involve lifting up to 100 pounds, with work conducted in various weather conditions.
Responsible for repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment associated with the marine propulsion service industry including the following brands: Schottel, Rolls‑Royce, Aquamaster, Steerprop, Ulstien, Brunvoll, ZF…
Valid TWIC and Driver’s License (Passport a plus)
High school diploma or equivalent; or 5 years related experience or training.
While performing the duties of this job, the Service Engineer is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear, swim. It is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, or balance. The assistant must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. These tasks are performed day or night and in all types of weather conditions. Work on/near deep water and electricity.
