Job summary

Hurco Companies, Inc. is seeking a Service Engineer to support customers in the Utica, NY area. The role is primarily on-site with occasional travel to the home office and other customer sites.

You will perform pre-installation reviews, oversee machine installation, inspection, and startup, and provide maintenance, repair, and remote technical support as needed. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical school or equivalent work experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial automation equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Process oriented, able to travel and complete travel/expense reports.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Pre-installation review: review installation recommendations and processes with the customer.
• Machine Installation: oversee the assembly of machines at the customer’s facility.
• Inspection and demonstration: inspect, adjust, and start up newly installed machines; demonstrate safe setup, operation, and maintenance protocols.
• Maintenance and Repair: provide warranty and non-warranty service including problem identification, maintenance, repair services, and training; recommend parts, accessories, and labor to maintain equipment safety and efficiency.
• Customer Service Management: regularly visit assigned customers to observe machine operation and identify service needs.
• Reporting and Documentation: complete service reports, inspection reports, time reports, and expense reports accurately and within time frames.
• Technical Support: provide remote technical support to distributors, customers, and other field service engineers via phone and email.

Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly

Hurco Companies, Inc. is looking for a Service Engineer to join our team to support a customer in the Utica, NY area. As a Service Engineer, you will be the go-to person who provides vital assistance to customers when they need it most. You will be responsible for ensuring our customer is ready to go as soon as their brand-new machine arrives. You will primarily be onsite at the customer site, but occasional travel by car and air is required for this position.
Hurco's corporate headquarters is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and travel will also be required to our home office, as well as occasional travel to other customer sites.
Responsibilities

• Pre-installation review: before shipping a new machine, review installation recommendations and processes with the customer.


• Machine Installation: oversee the assembly of machines at the customer’s facility.
