Job description

The qualified service electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in commercial, residential, and public facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
2. Conduct pre-job planning based on plans and specifications to determine tools and materials required.
3. Maintain a professional appearance and neat workspace while conducting service calls.
4. Accurately install wire, conduit, panel boards, fixtures, devices, prefab assemblies, boxes, and breakers according to job specifications and NEC.
5. Install electrical distribution and automation equipment: switchgear, transformers, PLC cabinets and VFD’s.
6. Troubleshoot commercial and residential electrical issues.
7. Work independently with an electronic dispatch system utilizing iPad.
8. Proficient with circuitry of the trade to include power, control, and motor terminations.
9. Bend conduit by hand and with benders.
10. Perform excavation of dirt, rock, concrete, and other materials using hand tools or power equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
2. Requires the ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, labels, and gauges.
3. Accurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurements.
4. Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal).
5. Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization management.
6. Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines.
7. Technical degree, 3-5 years’ experience, extensive mechanical ability, or a combination of education and/or experience.
8. Certifications or experience preferred in the following areas:
9. Journeyman or Master Electrician Card/License.
10. OSHA certifications.

Work Environment:

In performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
