Job summary

National Church Residences is seeking Service Coordinators to advance better living and care for seniors at a Garden Grove senior apartment community in Manhattan, KS. The role focuses on coordinating resident programs, connecting residents with community resources, and delivering high-quality services.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and 2+ years delivering social services to elderly or families, with strong advocacy and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of experience delivering social services to elderly and/or family populations preferred.
• Working knowledge of supportive services and local community resources.

Responsibilities

• Advocate, organize, problem-solve and deliver results for residents.
• Coordinate programs and activities for residents.
• Liaise with community agencies and network with service providers to obtain services for residents.
• Identify low-cost service providers and negotiate discounts.
• Engage residents to identify needs and refer to community resources as needed.
• Develop a resource directory of local service providers.
• Sponsor educational events on health care, agency support, life skills and referrals.
• Provide quality customer service and assist with basic needs.
• Assist residents in accessing services such as meals, transportation, personal services, and day care counseling.
• Monitor and relay resident feedback and concerns.
• Manage internal and external relationships with effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served
• Assume responsibility for coordinating programs and activities for residents
• Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers, and seek out new services available to residents.
• Identify low-cost service providers and/or negotiate discounts.
• Engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary
• Develop a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers
• Sponsor educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources.
• Provide quality customer service to all residents, addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs
• Assist residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling
• Monitor, document, and relay any feedback or concerns from residents and their families
• Manage relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills
