Job summary

National Church Residences is seeking a part-time Service Coordinator for Magnolia Acres in Angleton, TX. The role coordinates programs and services to help residents maintain quality of life and acts as a liaison to community agencies to expand available resources.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and at least two years of experience in social services for elderly or families, with strong advocacy and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years in social services for elderly and/or family population.
• Ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate programs and activities for residents.
• Serve as liaison to community agencies and network with service providers.
• Identify low-cost providers or negotiate discounts.
• Engage residents to identify needs and make referrals.
• Develop a Resource Directory of local/state service providers.
• Sponsor educational events on health care, life skills and referrals.
• Provide quality customer service addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs.
• Assist residents in accessing community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling.
• Report complaints and manage relationships internally and externally.

Pay: $20.00 an hour Magnolia Acres-(67 units) located at - 108 Deborah Drive Angleton, TX 77515 is a senior apartment community with a team of property management professionals that are unmatched in the area! The Service Coordinator assumes responsibility for coordinating programs and services to help residents maintain a good quality of life!

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred.

Experience

• Preferred two or more years of experience in a social service delivery with elderly and/or family population.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources in the area served by the project.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for coordinating programs and activities for residents.
• Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers, and seek out new services available to residents.
• Identify low-cost service providers and/or negotiate discounts.
• Engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary.
• Develop a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers.
• Sponsor educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources.
• Provide quality customer service to all residents addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs.
• Assist residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling
• Report all complaints made by residents and/or families.
• Manage relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
