Job summary

Akronhousing is seeking a Service Coordinator for the Family Self-Sufficiency Program in Akron, OH. This non-exempt, hourly role reports to the Self-Sufficiency Initiatives Program Coordinator within Resident Services and focuses on empowering residents to increase economic security.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in social services or related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience, and a valid Ohio driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field and 1-3 years experience in a social service setting.
• LSW preferred.
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable under AMHA’s policies.
• Familiarity with computer systems such as ETO and Microsoft Office is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interviews residents regarding personal and family needs to determine obstacles and resources.
• Secures and evaluates information concerning medical, psychological, and social factors to address barriers to self-sufficiency.
• Refers residents to appropriate supportive services and resources and supports efforts toward self-sufficiency.
• Develops case plans with residents individually or as a family and helps mobilize resources to improve social functioning.
• Monitors service plans and follows up to determine progress and outcomes.
• Networks with housing professionals and community organizations to expand services available to residents.
• Accurately enters case notes in ETO and other databases for grants and reporting.
• Prepares correspondence and status reports to keep management informed.
