POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the West Valley Housing Assistance Center (WVHAC), a community resource hub that provides housing navigation, community resource connections, and seasonal heat relief services. The Service Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for visitors, coordinates intake and referrals, supports on-site partner agencies, maintains client-level data, and ensures the center operates in a safe, organized, and welcoming manner. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of community resources, housing and homeless service systems, experience working with diverse populations, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with community partners. The Service Coordinator required to complete the responsibilities of the position on-site and in the community as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the West Valley Housing Assistance Center maintains a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for visitors, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for visitors by welcoming individuals, conducting intake and check-in, assessing immediate needs, and connecting clients to appropriate housing and community resources.
  • Coordinates daily operations of the West Valley Housing Assistance Center, including seasonal heat relief and cooling center activities.
  • Coordinates on-site services by scheduling community partners, service providers, outreach teams, workshops, and special events to support effective service delivery.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and service providers to expand access to housing resources and supportive services.
  • Collects, enters, and maintains accurate client-level data in Apricot, ensuring documentation is timely and compliant with agency, City, funder, and HMIS requirements.
  • Ensures client records, releases of information, and program documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with agency policies and confidentiality standards.
  • Monitors inventory of water, snacks, hygiene supplies, resource materials, donated items, and program supplies
  • Monitors facility operations and reports maintenance, safety, and operational concerns to leadership to ensure the center remains functional and welcoming.
  • Participates in community meetings, outreach events, and collaborative initiatives that support the mission and goals of the West Valley Housing Assistance Center.
  • Maintains professional relationships with community partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to promote coordinated service delivery.
  • Exercises sound judgment while resolving routine operational concerns and responding appropriately to visitor needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma/GED or two (2) years of equivalent experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • Trauma Inform Care training is preferred.
  • Motivational Interviewing preferred.
  • Experience in working with the Native American population, families, and youth preferred.

SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

  • Must be or become First Aid and CPR certified within the first 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout entire employment.
  • Must have or obtain a food handlers card within the first 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Excellent communication skills- written and oral
  • Experience in working with the Native American population preferred and homeless youth.
  • Experience with data systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods.
