Job summary

Meijer is hiring a Service Coordinator to support store operations, training, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coordinate handoffs between shifts, monitor department actions, and mentor teammates as part of a leadership-driven team.

The role emphasizes communication, organization, and a proactive approach to operational excellence within the Meijer rewards program and store-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum.
• Ability to operate cash register system and financial services equipment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when leadership is absent.
• Coordinate and drive actions involving monitoring and control of shrink and financial outcomes.
• Elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Lead participation in community programs and engage team member groups.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• On-the-job training and mentoring for teammates.
• Serve as SME for market programs, pilots, and development initiatives.
• Assign tasks to team members within department and follow up on completion.

What You'll be Doing:

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility. Proactively elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team)
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing
• The amount of weight or frequency of such activities may vary depending on a team member's shift during the day, the day of the week, the month or season, and/or other staff on duty
