Job summary

Neiman Marcus in Dallas is seeking a Restaurant Server to welcome guests and deliver attentive, professional service in a warm, luxury environment, aligning with the brand’s high standards. You will describe menu items with culinary terms, advise on wine, beer and spirits, and support smooth service across seating sections.

You will maintain hygiene, adhere to POS procedures, participate in pre-shift meetings, and help with daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.

You Will Be

The Restaurant Server serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner consistent to the high standards set by Neiman Marcus.

What You Will Do

• Serves assigned seating section of dining area in a professional and gracious manner
• Utilizes thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology, to provide detailed information to customers about menu items
• Leverages knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures
• Interacts graciously with the public and handles multiple duties at the same time
• Participates in daily pre-shift meeting
• Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions, including all authorized methods of payment, and maintains knowledge of the POS system
• Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
• Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.)
• Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation
• Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards to include, but not limited to:
• Clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes
• Clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks
• Exercises integrity with scheduling
• Punches in before and out after every scheduled shift
• Follows established procedure for schedule and shift changes
• Takes appropriate lunch breaks when applicable, punching accordingly
• Coordinates holiday, vacation, and any time off with management while considering the needs of the restaurant
