Job summary

Group 1 Automotive, including the Volkswagen of Alamo Heights dealership, is seeking a friendly Service Cashier to join the service team. You will be the final contact for customers, handling payments and ensuring accurate transactions with attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has prior cashier or customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and a professional, team‑oriented attitude. We offer competitive pay and benefits as part of a growing automotive group.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a warm, professional, and welcoming experience to every customer.
• Process customer payments accurately using cash, checks, credit cards, and other approved payment methods.
• Review repair orders and invoices for accuracy before completing transactions.
• Reconcile repair orders and ensure all required documentation is complete.
• Calculate charges for labor, parts, taxes, warranties, and other applicable fees.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and reconcile daily transactions.
• Complete accounting portions of repair orders in accordance with dealership procedures.
• Process and submit closed repair orders and related documentation daily.
• Return vehicle keys upon payment and assist customers with directions as needed.
• Answer incoming service department calls, transfer calls appropriately, and take detailed messages.
• Work closely with service advisors, technicians, and office staff to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information at all times.
• Perform other administrative and customer service duties as assigned.
