Job summary

Putnam County Schools in Winfield, WV is seeking a Half Day Bus Operator (S46) for Bus #1106 with a 200-day schedule. The role requires a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements and a clean driving record.

Operators will drive school transportation per WV guidelines, perform pre/post trips, and complete mandated training. The position offers a competitive benefits package, including PEIA insurance and retirement.

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Passes the required physical examination.
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver.
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check.
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening.
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator’s Certificate.

Responsibilities

• The half day School Bus Operator shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in The Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook.
• Location And Length Of Route(S) May Vary Determined by Coordinator of Transportation Dependent Upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
• Daily Schedule: Pre-Trip – 15 Minutes prior to pullout time (PM only).
• Currently - Pull Out Time (PM) – 2:15 - 4:45.
• Post-Trip – 15 Minutes.

Job Description: The half day School Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
