Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Service Billing Specialist to support accurate and timely billing of service work across multiple locations in New England. You will ensure service orders are properly costed, billed, and compliant with tax and prevailing wage requirements.

In this high-volume role, you will review agreements, resolve billing discrepancies, and collaborate with service, operations, and accounting teams. Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of billing, bookkeeping, accounting support, and customer service experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage high-volume weekly service order billing across multiple service groups.
• Ensure accurate service order costing using standard cost accounting methodologies.
• Review and interpret service agreements to validate billing accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze and resolve billing discrepancies through research and collaboration with internal teams.
• Apply state-specific tax regulations and prevailing wage requirements to service work performed throughout New England.
• Maintain detailed records and ensure timely invoice generation.
• Partner with service, operations, and accounting teams to support efficient billing processes.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements that enhance accuracy and customer satisfaction.
