Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Service Assistant III to replenish par level areas with supplies and to accurately pick and pack customer orders for delivery to hospital locations and off-site facilities in a manner that meets department standards for safety, security, and efficiency. The role involves loading, unloading, sorting, and moving products manually and with material handling equipment in a busy hospital warehouse.

Hours are Evening Shift 5p - 1:30a with EOW/EOH.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience in Material Distribution preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• One-year hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inventories par level areas using electronic handheld equipment - iPad readers Restocks par level areas.
• Delivers supplies to par level area.
• Maintains and arranges items on shelves for maximum efficiency.
• Removes debris and boxes from the clean rooms.
• Processes requisitions in PMM computer system.
• Communicates stock outs, unit of measure discrepancies, and order problems to the Manager of Distribution.
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
• Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
• Performs cycle counts and keeps assigned shelf locations neat and orderly.
• Takes initiative to assist patient care staff with identification of supply needs and available alternative when requested.
• Delivers STAT supply requests to user department via cargo van in an efficient and timely manner.
• Demonstrates compliance with Christiana Care departmental policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, infection control, attendance and dress code.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent required. Three years of relevant experience in Material Distribution preferred. Valid driver's license preferred. One-year hospital experience preferred

Working Conditions:

Unavoidable noise, dust and dirt in a lively hospital environment

Physical Demands:

Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs.of supplies. Ability to push a cart with a maximum of 250 lbs.of stock supplies.

Salary

This position has a starting rate of $18.57 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.74 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.79 per hour.. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
