Role Description The service and installation technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Cumming, GA that requires travel, 1-3 times per month. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing welding-related equipment, including fume extraction systems, welding tables, fixtures, and associated industrial machinery. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and completing necessary repairs to minimize downtime. The technician will document maintenance activities, follow safety and compliance procedures, coordinate with supervisors and welders on equipment needs, and support continuous improvement of shop operations. The role requires hands-on work in an industrial environment and close collaboration with cross-functional team members.

• Repair and maintain customer equipment to ensure products are working properly, as needed.
• Troubleshoots 3 phase electric controls, motor controls, and programmable logic controls remotely and on customer sites.
• Works with OEM technical support team to troubleshoot units as needed.
• Mechanical troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Installs new fume extraction systems and duct work at customer sites.
• Skilled in planning and scheduling new equipment installation, including but not limited to orchestrating all aspects of the project to ensure the success of the project.
• Communicates all project needs with managers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
• Ability to travel to customer sites for installation of new equipment, filter changes, and troubleshooting 1-3 times per month for 1-4 nights a week.
• Commitment to safety practices, including PPE use and adherence to OSHA or equivalent standards.
• Relevant technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields preferred.
• Proficient in communicating with customers via phone or email to understand the issue and effectively explain/outline troubleshooting steps and repairs.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, resourceful, active in continuing to learn
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and professional appearance
• Able to lift, slide, carry, and lower 50-75lb material
• Experienced with operating a forklift, scissor lift, telehandler, articulating man boom, etc.
