Job summary

TNS Autosports, a family-owned dealership and performance shop in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer. Qualifications

• Experience as Service Advisor or similar automotive service position.
• Dealership or independent automotive repair shop experience preferred.
• Strong automotive repair knowledge and preventative maintenance.
• Excellent communication, customer service and sales skills.
• Experience writing repair orders and estimates.
• Familiar with parts, labor operations and repair procedures.

Join a growing automotive team. TNS Autosports is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer who is passionate about customer service and the automotive industry. This position is ideal for someone with dealership or independent repair shop experience who enjoys building relationships with customers while helping drive service department success.

Our shop specializes in automotive repair, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, alignments, lift kits, custom accessories, performance upgrades, vehicle electronics, and aftermarket installations. What You'll Do

• Welcome customers and provide outstanding customer service from vehicle drop-off through delivery
• Create accurate repair orders and document customer concerns
• Perform service scheduling and manage the daily appointment flow
• Build repair estimates and explain maintenance recommendations clearly
• Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure efficient workflow
• Sell recommended maintenance, repairs, tires, suspension upgrades, accessories, and additional automotive services
• Assist with auto repair sales while maintaining a customer-first approach
• Handle parts ordering, verify parts availability, and communicate repair timelines
• Maintain communication with customers throughout the repair process
• Process invoices and close repair orders accurately
• Use shop management software to manage customer records, repair orders, inspections, estimates, and invoicing
• Work closely with management, technicians, and sales staff to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction

Experience and Requirements

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Automotive Service Writer, Customer Service Advisor, or similar automotive service position
• Dealership or independent automotive repair shop experience preferred
• Strong understanding of automotive repair and preventative maintenance
• Excellent communication, customer service, and sales skills
• Experience writing repair orders and preparing service estimates
• Knowledge of automotive parts, labor operations, and repair procedures
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Comfortable using shop management software and computer systems
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
