Service Advisor

JOB REPORTS TO:

Service Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain customer relationships and effectively communicate status of repairs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Customer loyalty
2. Service and parts sale
3. Resolve customer problems and complaints
4. Maintain customer appointment system
5. Review the vehicle history files
6. Walk around every vehicle and identify problems, wants and needs with customer and document as stated
7. Obtain customers signature on work authorization sheet prior to repairs
8. Promote the sale of parts, labor and accessories to meet customer needs
9. Record clear instructions for foreman and technicians
10. Main customer contact
11. Provide written estimates for labor and parts. Provide a diagnostic’s estimate if necessary
12. Provide customers with estimated time of completion
13. Establish method of payment; obtain approval of credit or purchase order if necessary
14. Obtain customers signature on repair order; provide customer with a copy. Discuss special needs with customer.
15. Check the progress on each repair order during the day and keep customers informed of changes to agreement. Record agreed-upon changes on the repair order.
16. Discuss work performed and changes with customer by telephone or upon arrival of dealership.
17. Maintain a follow-up system for additional needed repairs and parts on order
18. Note additional needed repairs and obtain approval before proceeding
19. Maintain housekeeping, organization, and safety of work area
20. Order parts according to dealership procedures
21. Ensure accuracy of final repair orders and call customer with final information.

The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Minimum of one year related or sales experience
