Job summary

Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, AZ, seeks a Server to deliver memorable guest experiences within its Food & Beverage team. You’ll master menu items, wine and beverage pairings, greet guests, take orders, and service with a team-first approach in a high-end club setting.

Starting wage is $23 per hour with merit-based increases and opportunities for advancement. Benefits include an onsite medical clinic, free employee meals, tuition reimbursement, and other generous perks.

Qualifications

• Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Prior high-end club or resort experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Present menus, suggest dishes and beverages, and assist in service.
• Communicate guest preferences and dietary restrictions to the culinary team.
• Maintain knowledge of beverage menu, cocktails, beer and wine.
• Deliver a high-level dining experience in a family-friendly atmosphere.
• Utilize name recognition and personalized service to build guest loyalty.
• Follow the three steps of service: warm welcome, friendly service, fond farewell.
• Coordinate with management on events and club activities.
• Keep service areas clean and professional; assist teammates as needed.

Join the Food & Beverage team at Desert Mountain Club, one of the largest and most beautiful private country clubs in North America, as a Server!

Desert Mountain Club has moved from a gratuity-based wage structure to a higher flat-dollar wage structure for all hourly Food & Beverage positions. Our servers will start at $23 per hour or more depending on experience. This is a guaranteed year-round wage, based on hours worked, without fluctuations in pay due to business levels or seasonality. You will also have the opportunity to advance in pay and position based on merit and performance through annual merit increases and the career ladder (various levels in each position based on performance, skills, and knowledge.

Desert Mountain Club features seven signature golf courses (six of which are Jack Nicklaus & an all-new par 54 championship course), seven distinctive clubhouses – each with its own unique restaurant plus banquets, state-of-the-art fitness center, swim and tennis facility, and spa. Starting Rate: $23.00 per/hr or higher based on experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a memorable guest experience by providing exceptional service and curating the dining experience. This includes maintaining a strong knowledge and understanding of menu items and pairings and tailoring the food and beverage experience to their tastes, executing service from greeting the table to providing the check, all in a team setting.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic. Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant is required. Prior high-end club or resort experience preferred.

JOB DETAILS

Responsibilities:

• Present menus, suggest dishes utilizing suggestive selling techniques, and assist in beverage selection and service.
• Communicate specific customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and modifications to the culinary team.
• Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage menu items to include cocktails, beer, and wine.
• Maintain a high-level dining experience with the mindset that we’re a family serving family.
• Utilize name recognition and personalized service in order to maintain raving fans.
• Practice three steps of service – warm welcome, friendly service, and fond farewell.
• Communicate and answer questions regarding restaurant and club events, mountain wide in a professional and courteous manner. Direct feedback, questions, and comments to appropriate manager or department.
• Maintain clean service areas, professional appearance of all clubhouse facilities.
• Proactively assist other team members and fellow servers, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Required to be on feet for long periods of time.
• Required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
