Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Server at Friday Harbor House in Friday Harbor, WA. You will take guest orders, serve meals and beverages, and contribute to a memorable dining experience.

Ideal candidates have weekend availability and prior server experience, with POS familiarity and knowledge of liquor laws. Eligible perks include health benefits, 401K, paid time off, and daily pay options.

Qualifications

• Availability to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Experience serving in a restaurant setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders and serves food and beverages per standards.
• Inputs orders into POS and relays special requests to kitchen.
• Prepares food items and ensures appealing presentation.
• Maintains item temperatures and knowledge of menu changes.
• Processes payments and keeps dining areas clean and organized.

What Success Looks Like:

Your Impact

• Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards
• Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team
• Assembles food items, such as appetizers, salads and soups
• Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature
• Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items
• Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling proceduresKeeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized

What You Bring

• Flexible availability including weekend evenings
• Previous experience as server in a similar restaurant environment
• Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures
• Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations
• Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
