Job summary

Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta invites applicants for Server - New South Kitchen. The server greets guests, takes orders, and delivers attentive service in a high-volume dining setting to ensure a memorable Omni Moments experience.

The role requires at least 1 year of serving experience, with beverage knowledge and ability to upsell cocktails. Candidates must hold valid Food Handler and TIPS certifications by start date and be able to process payments using MICROS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of serving experience in a high-volume setting.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TIPS certifications by start date.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer; ability to upsell cocktails.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Clear and courteous English communication with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Know the dining room and menus; greet guests with a smile and superior service.
• Take orders and suggest food and beverage menu selections, including daily specials.
• Communicate with the culinary team regarding dietary needs and special requests.
• Record transactions in MICROS and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate checks and process payments.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Set up and break down stations and complete side work as assigned.
• Ensure tables are set properly with polished glasses.
• Provide service per Omni Moments of Service Standards.
• Be pleasant, greet guests and use surnames when available.
• Protect the hotel from liability regarding overserving guests.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the restaurant manager.

Server - New South Kitchen

Overview

The server will wait on tables promptly, courteously, and serve our guests with genuine care.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of the dining room.
• Must have full familiarity with menus and beverage offerings.
• Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
• Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.
• Communicate with the culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests.
• Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate checks to guests and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Process station set-up and break-down and complete all other side work duties as assigned.
• Ensure tables are set up properly, including polishing and cleaning glasses.
• Service to guests according to Omni Moments of Service Standards.
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
• Clean, clear, and reset service areas.
• Protect the hotel from liability regarding overserving guests.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the restaurant manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year serving experience, high volume sports/live entertainment bar experience preferred.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TIPS Alcohol certifications by their start date.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experienceselling and presenting specialty mixed cocktails.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
