Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Server Engineer to manage enterprise server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. You will administer Windows and Linux servers, VMware, Active Directory, and backup/recovery solutions to ensure availability and security.

The role focuses on provisioning, patching, monitoring, security hardening, and disaster recovery planning within UHS's Southern Tier New York operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required: Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field OR Four (4) years experience in IT Server/Storage field.
• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field; Five plus (5)+ years of experience in IT Server/Storage field; CompTIA Server+; VMWare VCA6-DCV (Certified Associate 6 Data Center Virtualization)

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise server infrastructure, including physical and virtual server environments.
• Administer and support Windows Server, Linux operating systems, and VMware hypervisor platforms.
• Manage and support database, web, email, and business-critical application systems.
• Maintain and administer system management and monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Perform server provisioning, configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, including testing and validation activities.
• Maintain Microsoft Active Directory environment including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, OU, file/folder security, and user/group administration.
