Job summary

Geronimo Hospitality Group is seeking a friendly and professional Server for our Beloit venues. You will take food and beverage orders, guide guests through menu options, and uphold a warm, memorable dining experience.

Collaboration with management ensures quick, accurate service and guest satisfaction on every shift. Applicants should have at least one year of server or relevant customer service experience, basic math skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• One year server experience preferred, or equivalent customer service experience.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction and making change.
• Legible handwriting and strong customer service and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take customers’ food and beverage orders.
• Ensure orders are accurate and delivered to tables promptly.
• Suggest appetizers and meals based on the menu and specials.
• Address customer concerns in partnership with management to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
• Confirm orders with chefs and bartenders when clarification is needed.
• Assist with setting and rearranging tables to accommodate parties.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu and beverage lists.
• Keep dining areas clean and presentable per health standards.
• Process payments accurately and safeguard guest checks.

YOUR ROLE IN CREATING GERONIMOMENTS

In this role, you’ll be a key part of our team, ensuring that every guest leaves with a lasting impression. Your voice matters here—use it to build the future, make an impact, and continuously improve the guest experience.

As the Server, you are responsible for effectively serving customers and extending great customer service by providing information to help with food and beverage selections, presenting order choices, and maintaining a great dining experience by promoting a warm and friendly atmosphere.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

• Take customers’ food and beverage orders
• Ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
• Suggest appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
• Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience
• Confirm orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever a clarification is requested
• Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate parties
• Detailed knowing and understanding menus and beverage lists
• Maintains cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area in order to have a clean, presentable and attractive facility and to satisfy state and local health board requirements.
• Controls allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed.
• Receives proper payment from guest and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment in order to safeguard customer and company.
• Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed.
• Attends all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service and facility.
• Respect all of your co-workers and managers
• Responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information in order to provide quality customer service.
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Have fun at work; leave baggage at the door; come to work with a positive attitude ready and willing to help create a fun and memorable experience for our guests

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

Experience and/or Training

• One year server experience preferred, basic math skills required, must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer, legible handwriting, and strong customer service and oral communication skills. Must be 18 years of age.
