Job summary

King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard By Marriott in Hawaii seeks a friendly Guest Service Representative to welcome guests at the front desk and deliver Marriott-standard service with aloha. This full-time role requires a positive attitude, professional appearance, and the ability to manage check-in/out, answer inquiries, and sell hotel services.

Experience in front office is preferred; proficiency with Microsoft applications is expected, and Japanese or other languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• One year of front office experience preferred.
• Ability to speak Japanese a plus.
• Ability to speak multiple languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.
• Anticipate and respond to guest needs.
• Handle all aspects of guest registration, including check-in/check-out, rate structures, and providing information on hotel features.
• Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations and stay updated on changes and events.
• Know room rates, packages, discounts and promotions, and how to apply them.
• Find solutions quickly and resolve guest concerns.
• Assist other team members and departments to support overall performance.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for serving guests at the front desk while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner by following Marriott standards of hospitality and adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

____ Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing

____ personalized service to guests.

____ Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.

____ Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.

____ Anticipate and respond to guest needs.

____ Handle all aspects of guest registration, which can include: expediting the check-in/check-out process; following hotel rate structures, discounts, and selling strategies; issuing room keys; informing guests about hotel features and amenities, as well as local attractions; and satisfying special requests whenever possible.

____ Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.

____ Have knowledge about room rates, packages, discounts and promotions and know how to handle each.

____Maintain and understand special guest programs and franchise related programs.

____ Find solutions quickly, and confidently address and resolve guest concerns.

____ Distribute faxes, packages, and mail to guests for delivery or inform guest of receipt as necessary.

____ Answer phones according to service standards and within 3 rings.

____ Full understanding of the Front Desk system for all guest services.

____ Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best

____ overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.

____ Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Knowledge/Education/Experience: Proficient in Microsoft applications. One (1) year experience front office experience preferred. Ability to speak Japanese a plus. Ability to speak multiple languages preferred. High school graduate desirable.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
