Job description

STARTING WAGE: $17.00 PER HOUR

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work closely with other team members throughout the event.
  2. Follow instructions from supervisor, manager, or director regarding event set up.
  3. Provide the best service to our customers at all times. Be friendly, smiling, and assist with any needs they may have during their stay at Tropicana.
  4. Prepare room for event; glassware, dishes, setting tables properly as per event.
  5. Set up beverage stations, keep track of consumption, and refresh during the day.
  6. Clean room after the event, clear tables, rack dishes and glasses, sort silverware, and put away in proper areas.
  7. Set up tables and chairs at a moment’s notice when needed.
  8. Ensure that meals are served correctly, promptly, and on time.
  9. Keep storage room neat and orderly at all times.
  10. Fill out gratuity forms correctly.
  11. Fill out beverage consumption forms correctly with proper amounts used.
  12. Ensure all departmental personnel follow the Family Style Service model at all times.
  13. Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends.
  14. May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

BANQUET ROOM SET-UP:

  1. All tables to be set up with proper place settings as instructed on BEO’s.
  2. All salt & pepper shakers, sweetener caddies are filled before each event.
  3. All silverware and glasses are free from spots.
  4. Napkins are folded and placed in the proper position.
  5. Make sure signage is in front of the room one hour before the event starts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out step-by-step instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
