Job summary

A popular entertainment venue in Missouri is seeking a Server to provide outstanding service and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring compliance with alcohol regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills. This position may require working nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of serving in a fast-paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment.
• Knowledge of liquor brands and preparation methods preferred.
• Must be courteous, pleasant, and good-natured.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and credit.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
• Serve cocktails and menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders.
• Accurately account for all sales and payments from the guest.
• Provide outstanding service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Communicate with guests and staff clearly, using the POS system.
• Check IDs to enforce minimum age for alcohol service.
• Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for orders.
• Handle cash and payments accurately.
• Complete side work and assist with safety and service recovery as needed.

Overview

Fan Duel Sports is the central gathering place and entertainment plaza of Ballpark Village with two levels and 20,000 square feet of entertainment market space. With a world-class audio and video presentation spanning over 1,200 sq ft of HDTV, including a 40 foot LED, St. Louis sports fans get one of the best sports-viewing experiences in the country. This is the place to be year round with a 100 foot long retractable glass roof; fans can enjoy the nice weather during warmer months. The venue includes a stage for live concerts and performances, LED ribbon boards circling the entire space, a 200 seat restaurant and VIP lounge area.

Server Responsibilities

Server responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
• Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders.
• Be energetic, outgoing, and fun while maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Provide outstanding and professional service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff both verbally and using the point of sale system.
• Communicate with guests clearly, patiently and with good humor.
• Be well-versed in all concept products and menu items to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
• Consistently check guests\' identification to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol beverages.
• Monitor guest behavior and amount of alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
• Complete all side work assigned.
• Accurately account for all sales and payments from the guest.
• Alert management of any service and/or safety issues. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages.

Server Qualifications

• At least 1 year of serving in a fast-paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Must be courteous, pleasant, and good-natured.
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, bartender, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
• Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Other Server Responsibilities

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.).
• Must be able to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during each shift.
• Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely.
