Job summary

Fan Duel Sports at Ballpark Village is seeking a bartender to join our vibrant, high-volume venue. You will mix cocktails, pour wine and beer, and deliver energetic, friendly service to guests in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 1–2 years of bartending experience in busy settings, knowledge of liquor brands, fluent English, and an alcohol awareness certification or valid food-service permit. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience bartending at high volume bars/nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne and garnishments.
• Fluent English; other languages is a plus.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit required by local/state rules.
• Reading and writing abilities used in taking orders and paperwork.

Job description

Fan Duel Sports is the central gathering place and entertainment plaza of Ballpark Village with two levels and 20,000 square feet of entertainment market space. With a world-class audio and video presentation spanning over 1,200 sq ft of HDTV, including a 40 foot LED, St. Louis sports fans get one of the best sports-viewing experiences in the country. This is the place to be year round with a 100 foot long retractable glass roof, one of the largest of its kind in the country, fans can enjoy the nice weather during warmer months. The venue includes, a stage for live concerts and performances, LED ribbon boards circling the entire space, a 200 seat restaurant and VIP lounge area.

Bartender Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism.
• Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service.
• Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipe.
• Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or from guests.
• Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and humorously with co-workers and guests.
• Complete all side work as assigned.
• Be well-versed in the products in order to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
• Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption.
• Present and encourage current promotions to guests.
• Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guest.
• Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies and procedures.

Bartender Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years experience with bartending at high volume bars and/or nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments.
• Formal bartending training preferred.
• Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred.
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

The Bartender position requires the ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, boxes, bottles, ect.).
• Moving about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely.
• Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely.
