Job summary

Resthaven in Michigan is seeking an energetic dining room/kitchen assistant to support meal service for residents and guests. You will follow menus, prepare items, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation across dining rooms, kitchen, and dishwashing areas.

The role emphasizes high standards of customer satisfaction, teamwork, and compassion in daily interactions with residents. Weekday and weekend shifts are required, with steady, mission-driven work in a faith-based, not-for-profit setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages, fruits, salads, desserts, and assist with additional food preparation as needed
• Set up dining room tables for meal service
• Accurately follow resident menus when preparing room trays and/or serving in the dining room
• Take tableside meal orders and deliver food to residents in a courteous manner
• Deliver nourishments to resident units as required
• Deliver food carts to designated locations and return carts to the kitchen
• Wash dishes, cookware, flatware, and trays using approved sanitation procedures
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned

Position Summary

Assist with kitchen preparation and meal service for residents and guests while ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction. Responsible for accurately following menus, delivering high-quality service, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the dining rooms, kitchen, and dishwashing areas.

Pay Range

• $15 - $16.50
  • Pay is based on experience and applicable licensure

Employment Type & Schedule

• Full- Time
• Weekdays and Saturday (11:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Sunday (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

• When appropriate, offer available options to exceed resident expectations.
• Deliver nourishments to resident units as required.
• Deliver food carts to designated locations and ensure carts are returned to the kitchen.
• Collect and dispose of trash and garbage in designated containers.
• Clean work areas, dining rooms, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas, and other assigned spaces in accordance with established procedures.
• Wash dishes, cookware, flatware, and trays using approved sanitation procedures.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.
