Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in New York, NY is seeking a Server & Cook for its Food Services team. This full-time role supports two Older Adult Centers, the Early Childhood Center, and other programs, with a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and some holidays on a 7-day operation.

The Server & Cook will prepare, portion, and serve meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, manage inventory, and ensure food safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of food service experience.
• Food Protection and Sanitation Certificate from NYC Dept. of Health or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• Willingness to participate in trainings and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Effective communication, troubleshooting, flexibility, and openness to feedback.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve lunch and dinner at Older Adult Center, ensuring appropriately portioned hot meals.
• Prepare, portion, and serve meals according to menus/recipes and required quantities.
• Deep clean, wash dishes, manage inventory, and maintain sanitation across sites.
• Maintain compliance with food handling procedures and temperatures; keep records.
• Communicate allergens and ingredients to clients.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers across departments.
• Adhere to policies and complete other duties as assigned.
