Introduction

IBM Cloud offers a unified platform that provides cloud computing solutions on demand, managed through a single portal and API. We are currently recruiting for Data Center Specialists to join our Cloud team.

Your role and responsibilities

1. Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision Intel and AMD servers.
2. Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment.
3. Troubleshoot, test, and perform quality assurance on server hardware.
4. Resolve hardware issues professionally via trouble tickets.

Required technical and professional expertise

1. Operating System Installation: Windows Server, Linux, Unix.
2. Experience with rack, cable, and deployment of Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment is a plus.
3. Experience with web server and database installation is a plus.
4. Must be able to work in this country without company sponsorship.
5. Fluent in English.
6. Willing to learn quickly, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Moderate knowledge of PC hardware concepts and component installation.
8. Basic understanding of internet-related services and software (mail, web, DNS, etc.).
9. General understanding of computer networking concepts.
10. Customer-focused attitude with some customer service experience.
11. Network wiring/cabling experience is a plus.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with Windows and Linux platforms.
• Experience with computer/server hardware.
• Certifications are a plus but not required.
