Job summary

Blue Box Café by Daniel Boulud in Costa Mesa seeks a dedicated Server to provide attentive front-of-house service in a fast-paced, fine dining setting. You will manage a specific station and act as the on-floor ambassador, guiding guests through their meals with knowledge of the menu and wine selections.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of fine dining serving experience, strong food and wine knowledge, and a professional, guest-focused presence.

Job description

TheServer'sresponsibility is to take care of guests in an accommodating and professional manner and to ensure total guest satisfaction. TheServer is responsible for a specific station and should always be present on the floor making sure that service runs smoothly. TheServer should be knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine, and service in general. He/she will be the main contact and ambassador to guide guests through their meal. TheServer must have an ability to lead their team, and will control the pace and flow of all the tables in their station.

The position requires at least 2 years of serving experience in a high volume, fast-paced, preferably fine dining environment.

• Responsible for a specific station
• Be present on the floor to make sure that service runs smoothly
• Serve and clear food in cooperation with the Service Support Staff
• Communicate well with the Food Runners, Bussers and Barbacks in order to provide the correct sequence of service
• Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
• Engage the guests to create positive dining experiences
• Execute on-going, pre- and post-shift side work
• Open and close the dining room and beverage station as needed
• Be knowledgeable of the dishes on the menu and be prepared to answer any questions from the guests
